Our first commercial client for In the Den Photography was gorgeous, colourful childrenswear brand The Bunting Tree.
Emma designs The Bunting Tree‘s fabric herself, here in Yorkshire. She paints on tissue paper, which is then cut out into shapes and stuck onto paper to create individual graphics – these graphics are then arranged electronically to create The Bunting Tree’s stunning designs. It’s the technique Eric Carle uses in his illustrations, and it makes the most perfect designs for clothes that children want to wear, and that parents want their children to wear.
These designs are then sent off to India, where the fabric is printed and the garments are made up by a Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified factory, before returning back to Yorkshire to be sold.
Emma commissioned me to photograph her brand images for her debut British Weather range, which have since been featured in Vogue and Childrenswear Buyer Magazine.
